Breathwork | Meditation in Kingsfold, Surrey
To be present with our breath & our mind & the quiet spaces in between.
Weekly Online Classes
Using a combination of ancient yoga techniques alongside modern breath work practises we are able to move away from our stressed "fight-or-flight” state (sympathetic nervous system) and into our “rest-and-digest (parasympathetic nervous system) state.
There are so many benefits to these practises including helping to reduce stress & anxiety, support better sleep, a calmer mind, improved lung function & a deeper connection to ourselves.
Why Do We Practice Breathwork?
Learning to Meditate
I started meditating as a means to support my mental health over 14 years ago. At the beginning of my journey I explored many different teachers & practises and quickly felt the benefits within, a calmer, steadier mind & breath.
It was whilst living in India I took further studies to complete my 100hr pranayama & meditation teacher training. This was at the end of 2019 and I returned to England just before Covid. I set up an online meditation group to support people during this time. It was a time of anxiety, isolation & loneliness for many & this gave people the opportunity to come together a few times a week to practise breath work & meditation to help navigate those uncertain times. This group continues to meet once a week online.
Many people feel that they “can’t meditate’ but it’s the way that we approach the practise that is so important. How have we prepared our body & our breath? By exploring ancient pranayama techniques & modern breathwork practises we are able to move closer to that quiet space that is already within us.
